Connecting Folding, Cutting and Soft-Pack Packaging
An automatic facial tissue production line should be designed around the finished retail pack. The folding machine, log saw, transfer system and packing machine must process compatible product dimensions and operate at balanced production rates.
A high-speed folding machine alone does not guarantee high finished-pack output. If the cutting or packing section cannot process the folded tissue at a matching rate, products may accumulate between machines and additional operators may be required.
The complete process should therefore be evaluated as one production system.
Confirm the Facial Tissue Pack
Before equipment is selected, the customer should confirm:
Folded sheet length
Folded sheet width
Number of plies
Paper basis weight
Number of sheets per pack
Finished pack dimensions
Soft-pack film specification
Printed film registration requirement
Retail packing style
Wholesale packing arrangement
Target finished-pack output
A physical product sample is useful when the customer needs to reproduce a local market format. If no sample is available, the product should be defined with drawings, photographs and complete dimensions.
Jumbo Roll Feeding and Folding
The facial tissue folding machine receives multiple tissue paper webs and forms the interfolded structure used in the final pack.
The process requires coordinated control of:

Tissue log formation
Log discharge
Raw material quality can affect folding stability. Paper basis weight, softness, moisture, roll condition and ply alignment should be considered during machine adjustment and factory testing.
The number of folding lanes should be selected according to the required working width, product dimensions and complete-line capacity. More lanes can increase folding capacity, but the downstream cutting, transfer and packing systems must also be able to handle the resulting output.
Tissue Log Cutting
The folding machine produces long folded tissue logs. These logs must be cut into individual stacks that match the finished pack.
The facial tissue log saw should be selected according to:
Tissue log width
Tissue log height
Tissue log length
Finished stack dimensions
Tissue softness
Target cutting capacity
The transfer between folding and cutting should limit unnecessary compression or deformation. The blade and cutting settings must also match the tissue material and stack density.
A material test using representative tissue paper can provide a more useful reference than an unloaded machine demonstration.
Product Transfer
After cutting, the finished tissue stacks must move toward the packing machine in the correct direction and spacing.
The transfer system may include:
Conveyors
Product-guiding devices
Stack separation
Accumulation sections
Positioning devices
Packing-machine feeding systems
The transfer method should match the cut stack dimensions and the required packing orientation.
If product transfer remains manual, the expected operator quantity and working space should be considered before the factory layout is finalized.
Soft-Pack Tissue Packaging
The automatic packing machine can complete:

Bag or wrapper formation

Packing film quality can influence continuous operation. Film width, thickness, sealing characteristics, roll condition and printed registration marks should be confirmed.
When the customer requires several pack sizes, the adjustment range and necessary change parts should be discussed before the order. Frequent size changes may reduce practical production time even when the machine has a wide adjustment range.
Balancing the Complete Line
Practical line output is determined by the slowest connected process.
The customer should compare:
Folding capacity
Cutting capacity
Product-transfer capacity
Packing capacity
Packing-material replacement time
Product changeover time
Secondary packing requirements
A buffer conveyor can reduce short interruptions, but a buffer cannot correct a major capacity mismatch between machines.
Secondary Packaging
Finished soft packs may require bundle packing, bagging or carton packing before storage and shipment.
If secondary packing remains manual, sufficient operator space should be reserved near the finished-pack discharge area.
When the required volume becomes stable, the customer can consider:
Automatic bundle packing

Warehouse transfer
These functions should only be included when they match the confirmed retail and wholesale distribution method.
